photos : March 08 snow

The filenames contain the address on my street. These were shot around 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2008. It had been snowing for nearly 24 hours at that time. The storm ended around 4 PM Saturday. The final depth in the driveway was between 10-12 inches. As of 8:30 Saturday night, there were over 360 closings and delays registered on WHIO-TV's web site.

Notice the excess frozen stuff hanging out over the gutter. It's indicative of how fast this storm hit, and can be damaging. Most of us have something very much like it.

The total was a couple inches above this. We didn't see a plow on the street until 6-7 PM Saturday, so the street was equally deep (and essentially impassible with conventional vehicles).
